National School Lunch Program Lunch Applications

The Houghton-Portage Township Schools offers lunches free or at a reduced rate to those students who qualify. Free & Reduced Price Lunch Applications are sent home at the beginning of each school year. If you feel you qualify for the program, please carefully follow the instructions on the letter attached to the application and return the completed application to your student(s) school. If you prefer to complete the form online, please click here. Only one application needs to be completed for each household. Please review the information prior to submitting your application to ensure all required areas have been completed. Applications that are incomplete will be returned and the eligibility process will be delayed.

Starting on September 5th, school lunches and breakfasts will be free to all students. Please continue to fill out the applications even though meals are free for all. The Application for Summer EBT and Education Benefits with the Michigan School Meals Program collects information needed to ensure the school receives state and federal funding for education programs. Without this information, Houghton-Portage Township Schools could lose important state funding for educational programs that our students are entitled to.

A new application MUST be completed for each school year. You will be responsible for any charges to your student(s) account during the approval process or during any period that your student(s) qualification lapses.
